XFlow is a video management and restreaming platform that enables Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) agencies to effectively utilize and share live camera video with various internal and external stakeholders. The platform can adapt to different video needs and requirements, such as traffic management (e.g., operator workstations, video walls, etc.), web applications for public and private use (e.g., 511, VDS, etc.), GIS departments (e.g., ArcGIS integration), partner agencies, emergency responders, the media, and others. XFlow is the first platform of its kind to offer a unified, cost-effective solution for both video management and restreaming in TSMO.
The platform is a feature rich solution for camera control, video normalization, and secure restreaming. It offers intelligent real-time monitoring and management, a modern browser-based user interface, and a fully featured (REST) web API for external systems integration.
The platform is highly scalable through the addition of streaming engine instances, with existing deployments handling the mass (public) distribution of video streams for as much as 4,500 different cameras. The platform is most commonly deployed on private virtualized environments but can also be deployed on bare metal servers and commercial cloud environments.
The XFlow Streaming Engine (SE) leverages open-source technologies written in Go and C/C++ to deliver high-quality video streaming with low latency and resource consumption. The XFlow Cluster Manager (CM) is the central component of the platform, which handles control, monitoring, load balancing, and configuration operations.
